Ink in the blood (Inktober 2016)

Each year, during October, illustrators have the challenge to draw an illustration with ink each day. This month is called the Inktober.

For the first time this year, I decided to get out of my comfort zone and to participate. Comfort zone because I mostly never use ink or imposed theme when I draw.

Finally, it was a very interesting challenge. I was able to draw a small illustration each day, even if I’m not completely satisfied with some of them and although my drawings were done very quickly, I feel like my lines have improved during the month. It also reminds me art course during high school, were we had to use only black ink to create different textures and shadows.

All my drawings were done with 3 black Sakura Pigma Micro pens : 1mm, 0.45mm and 0.20mm. I bought these pens a few weeks before the challenge and it was a great occasion to try them.

Here’s a few of my drawings :

Chauves-Souris Colombe Corbeau 12 oiseaux

Crawling Things
